“A team worth watching” Weekend Notes

“The Minola team has found a bright cast sharp enough to bring a slice of edgy off-Broadway to the Brisbane burbs.” Stage Whispers

A gunshot. Two identical apartments. Three dead bodies.

When Steve and his wife Sara move from Minnesota to Florida to make it big in the gospel-themed hotel industry, they’re sure that God is on their side. Next door neighbour Sam, disfigured and in mourning for his fiancée after a horrific car accident, is not so sure. And Karl, the German exterminator who comes to spray for tropical bugs, knows Steve and Sara are nuts.

As these four characters’ lives converge, beliefs clash, tempers flare and alliances shift. The God-ordained future that Steve imagined starts to slip away. But is it divine failure or human blindness that’s steering them toward disaster?

Combining dark comedy, tragedy and a sprinkling of quantum physics, Grace by Craig Wright is a powerful meditation on the nature of faith, the factors that draw people together, and what happens when God doesn’t play by the rules.
